Who's behind this site?

I'm Emánuel Dávid Tukacs, an independent insurance intermediary (broker). As a broker, I don't represent one insurer – I act on the client's instructions: I request competing quotes from several insurers for your fleet and hand them over in a plain-language table, strengths, weaknesses and small print included. I assess your needs and explain your options – the decision is always yours.

My activity is supervised by the Magyar Nemzeti Bank: my registration number is 114063010758, which anyone can check in the MNB's institution register. I carry out intermediation as a partner of Eurorisk Biztosítási Alkusz Kft. My main site: tukacs.com.

Why fleets in particular?

Because the company vehicle fleet is an area where insurance easily gets out of hand: many vehicles, several types of cover, purchases and sales throughout the year, drivers, claims. Fleet insurance isn't really about the policy – it's about the system: a common renewal date, an up-to-date vehicle list, a known claims record, orderly adding and removing of vehicles – all of which are in the company's hands. Once that system is in place, premium negotiations are based on data, not gut feeling – that's what the 93 articles in the Insights hub are about.

Three principles I stick to

• Competition, not pushing products. Instead of comparing insurer brands, I compare content: cover, deductibles, the flexibility of adding/removing vehicles, claims-handling practice. Several insurers' quotes are placed side by side – the table speaks for itself.
• Plain language. A good decision doesn't need jargon, it needs a clear picture. I put together every document so that the managing director, the fleet manager and the accountant all understand the same thing from it – the glossary unpacks the technical terms.
• The long run. Taking out a policy isn't the end, it's the start: orderly fleet administration during the year, a review with claims data if it is warranted. The fastest route for claim notification is always the insurer's own claims line and online platform – but if a case gets stuck or becomes disputed, I help the client, where I can, as broker.

What does this cost you?

I don't charge the client a fee for advice or for running the competition between insurers – the intermediary's commission is paid by the insurer. This is standard practice in the market, and I talk about it openly, because that's what trust rests on: you know exactly what your broker lives on, and you also know that the right to decide always stays with you.
